Mission Statement

To provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. Our vision is that all children and youth discover and achieve their dreams and grow up to be healthy, successful and active participants in society. The values that inform our work: 1) Belonging: We welcome everyone in a safe, accepting environment based on belonging and positive relationships. 2) Respect: We ensure that everyone – children, youth, families, volunteers, staff – is heard, respected, valued and treated fairly. 3) Encouragement and Support: We encourage and support every child and youth to play, learn, and grow to achieve their dreams. 4) Working Together: We work together with young people, families, volunteers, our communities, and government. 5) Speaking Out: We speak out for children, youth, and families so that we can make our world better.

About This Cause

BGC Leduc – Where Kids and Teens Belong, Grow, and Thrive. And Opportunity Changes Everything. At BGC Leduc, we believe every child and youth deserves a safe place to go, a hot meal to eat, and someone in their corner. That’s what we provide—every single day. As Leduc’s largest child and youth-serving social organization, we work with young people ages 6 to 18 in two key service streams: children (6–12) and youth (12–18). From after-school drop-in to leadership clubs, from healthy snacks to mentorship, our programs are designed to help kids feel seen, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. We know that when young people have a sense of belonging, the opportunity to explore who they are, and adults who believe in them, amazing things happen. They become leaders. They dream bigger. They give back. They thrive. No One Turned Away. Ever. We believe no child should be without our programs due to cost. If a family is facing financial challenges, we work with them to ensure their child can still participate in our after school programs—through internal subsidies or full fee waivers. We are proud to be a Club where equity is more than a value—it’s a practice. Our after school costs are already highly subsidized when compared to other opportunities in the area, but the more funds we can generate, the lower that cost can be across the board! And, through the support of our Provincial Government, we are able to keep our 12 to 18 year old stream completely free! What We Do: Our core programs create consistent, safe, and meaningful opportunities for young people all year round. After School Drop-In Program The heart of our Club. Every weekday, we welcome 140 children and youth into spaces full of friendship, fun, and positive adult mentorship. Activities include gym and field house time, cooking club, arts and crafts, homework help, games, outdoor play, and more. After School Shuttle Service We provide safe daily transportation from local schools (Notre Dame, Corinthia Park, Caledonia Park, Willow Park) directly to our main Clubhouse. For many kids, this is their only way to access our programs—and it’s essential. ...and the most affordable option in Leduc for PD Day Camps, Fall Break Camp, Spring Break Camp, and 8 weeks of Summer Camps! We know how to bring the FUN! Locations: Main Club House- after school programs daily from 3-6pm for our 6 to 12 year olds. Youth Programming for our 12-18 year olds, nightly during the week from 6pm onwards! Some examples of programs that are included in after school and youth memberships: Cooking Clubs: Hands-on cooking and baking, budgeting, planning, and food safety lessons help kids gain life skills and independence—all while learning the value of nutritious meals and healthy eating. Garden Program: Together with volunteers, our youth learn to grow, care for, and harvest fresh food while building a deeper connection with nature and sustainability. Leadership Programs >Torch: For youth ages 10–12, this national leadership program builds confidence, community awareness, and a sense of belonging. >Keystone: For teens 12+, this flagship program develops real-world leadership, career skills, volunteerism, and community impact. And more...like: Healthy Active Living and Intro to Sports Swimming, so much pool fun! Homework Support Teamwork Building S.T.E.M. Arts and Crafts Special Guest Presentations Music Lessons by The Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation Why We Fundraise We rely on community generosity to keep these programs subsidized to free and accessible for all. Right now, we’re also working toward two key goals: 1) A Permanent Youth Centre: Our next big chapter. We’re fundraising to build a permanent, youth-designed space where young people can connect, grow, and access opportunity for generations to come. Check out our project page for more information on this! 2) To expand BGC Leduc’s reach by delivering high-quality programs directly in school communities across Leduc. With our main Clubhouse operating at full capacity for several years, we began piloting satellite programs—first at Willow Park School in Fall 2023, and soon at Linsford Park School in Fall 2025. With increased support and funding, we aim to grow this model into all elementary schools in Leduc—and eventually, the wider region of Leduc County—bringing essential after-school and leadership programming closer to home for more children. This expansion aligns directly with feedback from our latest community needs assessment, where parents and caregivers identified a strong desire for 6–12 year olds to access programs within their neighborhood schools as they usually are within walking distance from home and reducing barriers like transportation. How You Can Help We welcome support in many forms. Here’s how you can get involved: Donate: Every dollar supports programming, meals, supplies, and transportation. Volunteer: Whether it’s leading an activity, supporting an event, or helping behind the scenes, your time makes a difference. Give In-Kind: We’re always in need of school supplies, healthy snacks, cleaning products, sports gear, and craft materials. Fundraise With Us: Host a fundraiser at your workplace or in your community. We'll support you every step of the way. Become a Corporate Partner: From event sponsorship to capital support, there are many ways your organization can align with our mission.
