About This Cause
The Art of Living Foundation is a registered charity in Canada since April 3, 1990. It relies almost exclusively on the help of volunteers for its operations and programs. The Art of Living provides educational and self-development programs for the general public including instruction in meditation, breathing techniques and tools for mental, emotional, and physical well-being. We offer these educational programs in major cities across Canada. To provide rest, healing and rejuvenation we also operate an international retreat centre all year-round (the International Art of Living Centre) in St-Mathieu-du-Parc, Quebec, where a variety of educational activities take place on regular basis. These include: Art of Living courses (The Art of Happiness, The Art of Silence, The Art of Meditation): yoga instruction, Ayurvedic health retreats and training programs, Art of Living teacher training courses, and ART Excel, All `Round Training for Excellence) for youth. The Art of Living Foundation is engaged in humanitarian service activities in Canada and abroad. Our service projects include the Care for Children Program, which provides free schooling, food, periodic medical, dental care to poor village children in rural India. Within Canada, we have been involved in a variety of humanitarian service activities, for example playing a key role during the Calgary floods, tree-planting in Mississauga, providing teachers for IAHV's youth empowerment programs for First Nations youth and Prison Smart workshops for inmates, etc. Internationally, the Art of Living Foundation is active in more that 150 countries around the world.
