Mission Statement

RMHC® South Central Ontario's mission is to provide a warm, compassionate, and safe "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at our local children’s hospital.

About This Cause

Ronald McDonald House Charities® South Central Ontario (RMHC®SCO) is dedicated to providing crucial support and resources to families with seriously ill children who are undergoing medical treatment at McMaster Children's Hospital and other local hospitals. Our primary Mission revolves around creating a compassionate and nurturing environment that allows families to remain close to their hospitalized children. Understanding the emotional, financial, and logistical challenges families face during these difficult times, RMHC®SCO offers a network of programs and services designed to alleviate their burdens. By offering a "home away from home" to families from Niagara to Hamilton-Halton, Brant and Norfolk County across to Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph, RMHC®SCO ensures that families can stay together during their child's treatment journey, fostering a sense of unity and emotional well-being. We extend our support through various initiatives, including meal and wellness programs offered at both our 39-bedroom House and our two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms within McMaster Children's Hospital. By addressing both the practical and emotional needs of families, RMHC®SCO plays a vital role in enhancing the overall well-being of both children and their caregivers, ultimately contributing to improved treatment outcomes and stronger family bonds during challenging times.
