Mission Statement
CPC Halifax Citadel members are committed to enhancing the quality of life in the community in which we live, most notably for women and children. Since 1989, we have supported Phoenix Youth Programs annually from the proceeds of our largest fundraiser the Progress Women of Excellence Awards. The awards honour the work of 7 women who make a significant contribution not only to our community but to their profession. In 25 years we have nearly 1.5 million dollars for Phoenix Youth Programs. We also host Girl’s Night Out and many other small fundraisers throughout the year to help with our other efforts. Each year we give out grants to several charitable organizations in our community. Community Service is also a large part of what we do. With over 1,500 hours per year in volunteer work by our members we are able to contribute to a variety of organizations. You might find our members volunteering at Special Olympics events, helping to feed the hungry at church dinners, singing Christmas carols to the Veterans at Camp Hill, cooking or baking with Phoenix Youth, or filling Christmas stockings for those in need.
About This Cause
The Canadian Progress Club Halifax Citadel Charitable Foundation (CPC Halifax Citadel) is a committed group of volunteer women totally focused on helping those in need in our community since 1988. The Halifax Citadel chapter is one of the most active and successful Progress Clubs in Canada.
