Mission Statement

Navigate complexities. Create change. Together.

About This Cause

Rooted in the values of dignity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning, creating impactful change together with our community is what drives us. More than just words on a page, it’s the work we’ve put into action for more than three decades, supporting Calgarians impacted by poverty, trauma, and systemic marginalization with a unique integrated approach to care. We empower people to work holistically to create and achieve goals that support their well-being and build readiness to navigate and access support in the community. CUPS Calgary was founded as a community health clinic in 1989 as a community response to growing social inequity in the downtown core. Since then, we have expanded our programs to include mental health services, housing and economic supports, and family and child development programming. Participants at CUPS experience a wide range of social vulnerabilities, including experiencing homelessness and living with low-income. We collaborate with community partners to maximize our impact, including providing services at homeless shelters, drug treatment programs, and community resource hubs. At the end of 2023, we launched our newest strategic plan that will guide our work over the next 5 years.
