STUDENTS AGAINST DRINKING & DRIVING ASSOCIATION OF ALBERTA

CALGARY, Alberta, T2P3M1 Canada

Mission Statement

SADD Alberta provides education for Alberta's youth on high-risk driving behaviours including impaired driving, distracted driving, speeding, occupants restraints, etc.

About This Cause

We have been a registered non-profit in Alberta for over 30 years. Schools throughout the province have SADD Chapters, where students hold ongoing events and engage their peers about making safe and positive choices relative to driving and riding with other young drivers. Success is based on youth empowering youth. While our name indicates 'drinking and driving', throughout our history we have evolved to incorporate any high-risk youth driving behaviours based upon the need of current trends, etc. We provide schools and stakeholders with resources to assist them in educating youth in their communities. We hold annual conferences and also provide topic related speakers to schools. We are very engaged with Alberta schools and stakeholders and we are also a main resource for other provinces as many refer to our website as a resource, use our event ideas, etc. While our target is high schools for our SADD Chapters, we also engage younger youth in programs like our annual Liquor Bag Campaign and with provision of our resources.
