Mission Statement
Individuals and communities served by Polycultural have an equal opportunity to be productive members of the Canadian society.
About This Cause
Polycultural Immigrant and Community Services “Polycultural”, is a diverse organization serving communities within the GTA to enhance their well-being. Our 5 service centers are equipped to provide community-led programs and services for youth, seniors, women and newcomers in more than 20 languages. We are a registered charity governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, and funded largely by the Government of Canada. Throughout our 45 years of existence, we have re-purposed our programs and services to fit the needs of the communities we serve. These programs are grouped under 5 main pillars: • Immigrants and Refugees: assisting them with their settlement needs which will include learning English, getting assistance with government programs and helping them to understand their rights and responsibilities as new residents. • Children and Youth – to develop their personal skills and talents through programs such as Youth Job Connection (YJC), Youth Achievers and Homework Club. • Individuals in Crisis – giving support through programs such as Crisis Counselling, Program Gambling and Partner Assault Response. • Seniors – helping them to improve their quality of life through the Post Discharge Program (reassurance check for seniors discharged from partnering hospitals), Seniors Club and connecting them to community programs in their neighbourhood. • Unemployed – helping them to move closer to their desired jobs through the Career Exploration and Employment Assistance Program, Excelling in Customer Service, TRIEC Mentorship and B2B Programs. We thrive on collaboration and believe that no client should ever be turned away. Our mandate is to provide individuals and communities with an equal opportunity to be productive members of Canadian society.
