Harmony Place Support Services specializes in providing individually driven day programs that foster personal development and social inclusion for adults with multiple disabilities.
About This Cause
Harmony Place Support Services (HPSS) was established in 1993, as an incorporated, not for profit organization initiated by a group of concerned parents of adult children who had a developmental and physical disability that were going to transition out of high school with limited or no supports for them to continue learning or engage in meaningful activities. At HPSS, we are dedicated to delivering a day program experience for individuals that celebrates the shared values of respect, choice, support, inclusion and growth, in a place where individuals can share, learn, laugh and come together as a community. Our day programs consist of structured activities that promote that sense of community, develop social skills, build life/work skills, teach health and wellness and are fun! Our focus is to deliver these programs in a respectful manner while celebrating the individuality of the 75 people who participate. Most commonly, these individuals are living with Cerebral Palsy and other health disorders. Living with these disorders can be isolating as they limit the mobility and independence of individuals. At HPSS, it is our mission that the people who attend our programs feel a strong sense of belonging, where they are surrounded by friends and feel supported and valued.
