THE CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION OF GUELPH AND WELLINGTON

Guelph, Ontario, N1H 6J3 Canada

Mission Statement

We are passionately committed to enhancing the well-being of children and youth by connecting them to experiences and supports that contribute to their sense of belonging and help them to reach their full potential.

About This Cause

Originally started in 1991 as a way to provide funding for important programs for children not-in-care identified by Family and Children's Services of Guelph and Wellington, the Foundation reach is currently broader. In 2009, Food and Friends transitioned from being hosted by Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health to a program of the Children's Foundation, bringing the core programming to four including: Adopt-A-Family Keep Kids Fed at Home (Formerly Food4Kids Guelph) Keep Kids Fed at School (Formerly Food & Friends) Free to Grow The Children's Foundation has helped thousands of children re-direct or re-focus their lives by providing financial assistance for sports, arts activities, and summer camp; memorable Holiday experiences; and breakfast, lunch or snack programs at schools. These children are currently in family situations that limit their ability to access these opportunities. More than 1,000 volunteers work with the Children's Foundation in one way or another. To best serve our community, we work closely with social service agencies, local municipalities and other collaborative organizations.
