Mission Statement

The Calgary Racing Pigeon Club is seeking to acquire funding to facilitate weekly racing and also support with our operational expenses. In addition, we are very focused with the growth of members regarding one of the oldest clubs in Canada.

About This Cause

The Calgary Racing Pigeon Club was officially registered in 1906. However, early records show organized pigeon racing in 1904. The Calgary Racing Pigeon Club promotes the sport of long distance pigeon racing through club activities and with demonstrations daily at the Calgary Stampede. The Club membership in recent years averages 12 - 15 members. Over the years the Calgary Racing Pigeon Club has been proud to be involved the special events including the releasing of pigeons during the opening ceremonies of the 1988 Winter Olympics, the 1994 WCB National conference, the official opening of the Chinese Cultural Center and the official opening of Fort Calgary. The club was also the host for the 2004 & 2009 Canadian Racing Pigeon Union Convention which brought approximately 300 delegates from across Canada.
