Mission Statement
To support a healthy and inclusive community, through art and social programs for marginalized youth with a vested interest in Black Canadian youth and their families. We are committed to creating strategies to address and eliminate barriers, real or perceived, lived or shared by acts of systemic racism that further the gap amongst community, growth and connection for Black and other marginalized youth.
About This Cause
Sankofa provides an environment where marginalized young people can learn and practice leadership skills and focus on ethical decision making while creating strategies to address and eliminate barriers that artificially limit social and economic opportunities with a vested interest in Black Canadian Youth and their families. Through our core Art, Career Mentorship and Social Justice programs, we are able to reach at risk youth and offer much needed care and support. Our programs create opportunity for children and youth to develop into mature and responsible adults who will play an important role within their communities and wider society. We are committed to creating strategies to address and eliminate barriers, real or perceived, lived or shared by acts of systemic racism that further the gap amongst community, growth and connection for Black and other marginalized youth.
