About This Cause
The Calgary Climate Hub is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization that unites a diverse group of Calgarians committed to working together to support meaningful local action on climate change. We represent a variety of communities, industries, cultures and causes. We believe that a broad and diverse range of Calgarians and organizations need to be engaged on the climate crisis to develop impactful solutions that fit our unique political and economic circumstances. Our organization may be small, but our impacts are large, including our Urban Tiny Forest projects, our Community Climate Action programs, our Advocacy Campaigns, Active Transportation events, Eco Elders program, Youth Climate Bursaries, Climate Book Club, Climate Justice program, and more! Our Core Values: •Non-partisan: We support effective climate action and policies, not specific political parties or politicians. •Evidence-based: We encourage critical thinking, understand and cite sources, and seek sound information. •Collaborative: Building collaborations and coalitions is important; we seek to merge efforts for building resilience and concrete skills. •Diverse: We host inclusive dialogue and bring more and diverse people into healthy dialogue. •Volunteer-led: We need the involvement of Calgarians to motivate community and individuals to take action.
