Gato Negro's mission is to celebrate and promote the vibrancy and diversity of Spanish and Latin American culture and heritage, with unique theater productions.
About This Cause
Our vision is to bring our culture to every community in Calgary, in our province and in Canada. Gato negro is the first Spanish-speaking theater company founded in Calgary (Alberta). Since 2012 we promote Latin American culture through plays based on classic novels and literature by different Spanish-speaking authors. We also develop originals driven by our values and beliefs. We have incorporated universal classics that are aligned with our passion and the message and values we defend. Our group of actors is made up of people of different nationalities, including Americans and Canadians, and we welcome everyone who wants to participate and collaborate with our roots and culture.
