The Hay River Youth Centre exists to provide an inclusive, safe, and welcoming place that will foster emotional, social, physical, spiritual, and mental health for youth.
About This Cause
The Hay River Youth Centre (HRYC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth aged 12 to 18. Located at Studio 906 on Mackenzie Highway, it offers a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space focused on emotional development, creativity, and community engagement. Programs & Services Open seven days a week, HRYC provides a wide range of activities and resources: Comfortable lounge space Pool and ping pong tables Musical instruments and jam space Art and craft supplies Video games and virtual reality headsets 3D printer and Wi-Fi Kitchen space and free snacks Friendly, supportive staff always available Weekly Programming Game Night (Mondays @ 5 PM): Board and VR games Podcast Club (Tuesdays @ 4 PM): Listen, share, and produce podcasts Chords n’ Chaos (Wednesdays @ 4 PM): Music jam sessions Wellness Night (Thursdays @ 4 PM): Yoga, crafts, and nutritious snacks B.R.A.V.E. Leaders (Fridays @ 1:30 PM): Leadership and self-esteem building Open Mic Night: Last Saturday of each month Lights On Program A free drop-in program promoting active, healthy lifestyles and 2SLGBTQQIA+ positive spaces: Princess Alexandra School (Grades 4–7): Fridays, 7:00–8:30 PM Diamond Jenness Secondary School (Grades 8–12): Fridays & Saturdays, 8:00–10:30 PM
