Our mission is to support youth in the discovery of themselves and their community! Our Vision: Confident, contributing, content youth. We strive to create a community of caring kids through our truly inclusive, dynamic and empowering programs.
About This Cause
The Mississippi Mills Youth Centre is a non-profit community youth centre that provides a safe, supervised environment for drop-in and structured programs for youth ages 10-18. Our programs promote and strengthen emotional, social, mental and physical health and wellness. The end goals are to strengthen youth, family and community well-being and to assist youth to be engaged and productive members of society. Almost all of our programs are free and cover a range of arts, sciences, sports, games, gardening, life-skills like cooking and budgeting, homework help, tutoring and so much more. We use several youth engagement strategies to nurture a safe and inclusive environment including Restorative Practices, Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care, role modelling and giving a lot of choice and power to youth. We have extremely high expectations of youth and they ALWAYS rise to our expectations in our supportive space.
