About This Cause
Protecting the magic of BC's parks, together. BC Parks Foundation is the official charitable partner to BC Parks, dedicated to preserving and enhancing beautiful and biodiverse spaces across the province. We work alongside BC Parks, Indigenous partners, and conservation-minded communities with the shared goal of protecting 30% of BC by 2030. We do this through the following initiatives: * Science-driven conservation: We use data collection and research to understand wildlife and their habitats, informing effective conservation strategies. * Health and nature connection: Our program Park Prescriptions empowers doctors to prescribe time in nature to patients seeking improved well-being. * Equitable access for all: We believe everyone deserves to experience the magic of parks. We remove barriers and provide opportunities for equity-deserving groups and newcomers to explore the outdoors. * Expanding parklands: We partner with the Province of BC to secure additional lands for parks and Indigenous protected areas, safeguarding vital ecosystems. Our vision is a connected system of parks and Indigenous protected areas that is cared for, resilient, and full of life, generating jobs, wealth and other benefits for people and other species.
