The mission of The Community Exchange in Altona Inc. is to create an accessible community hub for community members in Altona and the surrounding area, with a focus on health and well-being, inclusion, and access to programs and services.
About This Cause
The Community Exchange in Altona Inc. (TCE) is a not-for profit organization established as a hub in Altona, to serve as a resource centre to make a positive difference in everyday lives and to promote health and well-being, by connecting people to a network of supports and services essential for actively learning, working and living in the community of Altona and in the surrounding area. TCE is a safe and affirming place, where all are welcome. We accomplish this by: • providing a community space for food gatherings where people can meet with each other. • building and developing partnerships with community agencies and organizations. • providing a community space to learn from and with each other. We will achieve our purpose by: • Delivering a monthly, free community meal and weekly coffee and muffins • Partnering with Regional Connections to deliver English Café, food preparation • Providing space for social and health agencies, and educational institutions for program and service delivery • Providing community office space including access to computers, internet, telephone • Partnering with Border Land School Division and CommUNITY for wrap around services • Providing opportunities for learning with and from each other The Community Exchange in Altona Inc. is rooted in the following core values: Integrity Inclusion Respect Accessibility Compassion Collaboration Diversity
