Mission Statement
In swahili, the word "bahati" means success. Our mission is to bring success to students that attend Tengeru Village Development Centre in Arusha, Tanzania. We want to create a place where they are cared for, empowered and given the opportunity to grow into independent and resilient little individuals.
About This Cause
The Bahati Project is a Canadian-run registered charity that supports Tengeru Village Development Centre in Tengeru Village, Arusha, Tanzania. Tengeru Village Development Centre is a free Pre-Primary school for over 70 underprivileged children aged 3-7 years in the a small village outside of Arusah. TVDC provides education for the students in both Swahili and English. In addition to their education, Tengeru students are provided with two meals per day, multivitamins, basic health care, and dental care. As well - we employ 7 local Tanzanian women who fully run the school and care for the kids.
