To provide meaningful, low barrier settlement support to refugees navigating new lives in Canada. With your help, we are building a welcoming Canada, one that embraces refugees, values their contribution to the social and economic fabric of our country, and eases their integration so that they can be their true selves.
About This Cause
Canadian Connections: Welcoming Refugees Home (CC) is a charitable organization dedicated to the resettlement and integration of refugees into Canadian society. Since our inception in August 2021, we have been at the forefront of providing critical support to refugees fleeing crisis situations, beginning with the urgent needs of Afghan nationals during the Taliban takeover, and expanding our assistance to include families and individuals from Syria, Nicaragua, Sudan, and other countries.Central to our mission is the belief in the power of early intervention. Central to our mission is the belief in the power of early intervention. We provide essential goods and services quickly, often within the first few weeks of arrival to Canada. This ‘soft landing’ gives newcomers breathing room to look at their options, to explore the education and employment resources we share with them vs being forced to take whatever they can to provide for their families, limiting potential and locking them into a cycle of poverty. We are committed to building a welcoming Canada where education and employment are the first step towards genuine, sustainable integration for refugees. Our organization is designed to facilitate a pathway to self-sufficiency for newcomers - a hand up, not a hand out - offering dignity, comfort, and a sense of security.
