Mission Statement

Durham Alliance Outreach is dedicated to empowering individuals and fostering inclusive communities through education and support. We strive to advance education by offering transformative workshops and lectures that focus on essential life skills, such as self-esteem, confidence, and communication. Our mission is to reach out to the general public and, in particular, to 2SLGBTQI+ individuals in Durham, providing them with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive.

About This Cause

We are a grassroots community organization founded due to a lack of resources in our community. We are a volunteer-run organization that relies on community support and grants to fund our programs. We are very proud of our Outreach services and the wonderful volunteers that run them. Our core focus is to: Improve our community's physical and emotional safety. Support well-being and inclusion through community programming. Stand up for cultural diversity in our communities through programs, services, and outreach. We also run a 2SLGBTQ+ food bank called "DAO Pantry" in Durham Region. Many other food banks are religious based or their core mandates do not allow for full inclusion. At DAO Pantry we serve approximately 90 Families per week in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
