Mission Statement
Children's Birthday Miracles (CBM) is a charitable organization dedicated to providing the best birthdays for underprivileged children who are unable to afford one. CBM provides them with the amazing birthday experience that they deserve.
About This Cause
Children’s Birthday Miracles was founded in January 2013 by a 15-year-old girl, Sheliza Kassam. Her goal was to ensure every child had the chance to celebrate their birthday. After a severe allergic reaction from the cake at her 12th birthday party, she was admitted to the hospital where she kept complaining to her parents for not being careful when purchasing a nut-free birthday cake. Her parents explained that she was lucky to even have a birthday party as many underprivileged children go without one. Since that day, Sheliza was motivated to ensure she did her part to give all underprivileged children the opportunity to experience the happiness and excitement that comes from a celebration of their birthday. Birthday parties are held monthly at a variety of locations (primarily womens' shelters and homeless shelters), where we provide cake, gifts to all the birthday children that month, loot bag items, cotton candy, entertainment (magician or clown), and face painting. To date over 3,500 underprivileged children have had the opportunity to have a birthday party. Our goal is to spread joy in less fortunate families’ lives across the world.
