About This Cause
Fund Homecare Canada provides funding support towards Homecare based services for Palliative Cancer Patients in Ontario, Canada. For Palliative Cancer patients who wish to spend their final days in the comfort of their homes, with their loved ones, there is limited support available from the government and with an average cost of PSWs being anywhere from $4,000 to $7,000 per month, these expenses towards PSWs could well be beyond reach for many families. And loved ones wanting to provide self care for patients may either do so at the expense of their own jobs but certainly at the cost of not being able to spend the needed time during the patient's final days. By providing these families PSW support, Fund Homecare allows loved ones to spend quality time with the patients, and get personal support workers’ expertise to the patients they need during this time. We have seen comfort and happiness with the families we have supported thus far, and we wish to continue providing this support to Homecare based Palliative Cancer patients in Ontario especially for families that cannot afford them.
