About This Cause
Weaving Roots is a grassroots not-for-profit organization created to elevate, empower, collaborate and build trusting and mutually beneficial relationships with Indigenous communities throughout Canada. We endeavor to accomplish our mission through community engagements focused on Indigenous well-being be it emotional, physical, spiritual, environmental and/or infrastructure supports. We want to create opportunities for educating and training Indigenous peoples to gain employment in several fields including in the fields of non-destructive testing (NDT), environmental services, professional services, and red seal trades. As we build our foundation, we intend to establish multiple initiatives in support of our vision including the creation of a bursary program for Indigenous youth ending their high school careers wishing to enter the workforce and practical “on the job” training and mentoring opportunities.
