Mission Statement
ENERGYminute’s Mission is to increase energy literacy across Canada. This is done by disseminating information through experiential learning studies through an interactive database and supported with videos, infographics and public speaking. Our website is a hub of information about energy – both globally and locally. Users, specifically students grade 6 to 12, will be able to use the website as a tool for learning about energy by exploring interactive maps and tools to learn about different topics within energy.
About This Cause
ENERGYminute has K-12 and Public Outreach initiatives to advance education and teaching and learning aids, through meaningful and accurate storytelling concerning energy emissions and climate. Teaching & learning aids feature videos, infographics, and lesson plans tied to the curriculum. We continue to engage with the Public by leveraging speaking opportunities across Canada. In collaboration with education professionals and teachers, we are developing a structured program around our interactive website database and have completed our first round. The program will be inquiry-based education, whereby students are asked questions to promote engagement and thoughtful discussion. Our monthly newsletter aims to provide digestible energy, emission, and climate content to interested stakeholders and members of the public.
