Rise, a national charity that provides people with a history of mental health or addiction challenges with a path to greater social and economic inclusion through entrepreneurship. Rise was founded on a powerful idea that people struggling with mental health or addiction challenges can overcome barriers to achieving a fulfilling career and financial well-being. About This Cause
Rise provides people who experience barriers to traditional employment with a powerful alternative: self-employment. Through low-interest loans, no-cost training programs, mentorship, and other custom supports, Rise helps people to develop the skills and access the capital they need to build a small business that can accommodate their needs, improve their quality of life, and enable them to better support their themselves, their families, and communities. We know what we do works. Four out of five Rise clients are still in business 5-years after receiving a Rise loan, which is evidence that our unique combination of capital, training, and wrap-around support is highly effective. Given the increasing demand for Rise programs and the high survivability rate of Rise finance businesses, we are embarking on a growth strategy to triple our loan volume over the next 5 years. To achieve this, we need to build our operating capacity and are entering the impact investment market to raise new loan capital.
