Mission Statement

Blue Veil Charity’s mission is to discover, nourish and highlight the unique talents and abilities of every individual it serves and ultimately redefine the definition of disability through the arts.

About This Cause

Blue Veil Charity is a registered, non-profit charitable organization founded on February 27, 2006. On July 21, 2006, Blue Veil Charity established Sara Elizabeth Centre (SEC), which is designed to support the social inclusion of children, youth and young adults who have developmental and/or physical disabilities. As well as providing relief for parents and caregivers we help young people discover, develop and nurture their unique talents and abilities through integrated ‘arts’ based programs. Ultimately we aim to redefine the definition of disability through the ‘arts’ primarily music and provide opportunities to express and showcase their talents within the community. SEC is located in Vaughan on a safe park like setting. We celebrate diversity; create new partnerships, collaborations and networks with other services providers in the community and GTA, along with working with professional artists and students who come for retreats or coop/volunteer placements. As we continue to grow our goal is to continue to maintain quality of service and to provide increased access to our families. Due to the lack of day programs that centers around the arts, and limited funding and government support, SEC recognizes the need to offer families with youth and young adults with special needs various integrated arts base programs that promote unity, love and hope and gives everyone an opportunity to shine like a star!
