Mission Statement
Objectives are: Contribute to the dissemination of the teachings of Islam. Keep young people from deviation to the wrong path, and find solutions to the problems they encounter. Keep the Muslim family from disintegration by finding solutions to family problems. Present Islam in a bright picture for non-Muslims. Encourage Muslims to participate in a society of moral and behavioural integrity. Promote human values such as justice, equality, mercy, compassion, peace, and brotherhood. Prepare the young based on true Islamic educational principles in light of the Qur’an and Sunnah without excess or negligence.
About This Cause
Mount Pleasant Islamic Center was originally a church and has been purchased by the Muslim community in May 2015. It is located at 160 Salvation Road (at the northwest corner of Commuter Drive and Salvation Road) in Mount Pleasant Village. Mount Pleasant Village is located in the northwest area of Brampton, around the Mount Pleasant GO commuter train station on the inter-city rail line connecting Toronto with Georgetown, Guelph and Kitchener. The mosque is surrounded by residential houses from all sides. It has a large prayer hall for men on the ground floor and a prayer hall for women in the basement with a separate room for mothers with young children. The Peace Mosque in Niagara Falls is also a project of Mount Pleasant Islamic Center.
