Mission Statement
Seva Food Bank provides safe, nutritious and culturally appropriate food to low- income families living in Mississauga through our Wolfedale Rd and Malton locations. An initiative of Sikhs Serving Canada, a registered charity, our mission is to positively impact our local communities by acting on the basic Sikh tenets of sarbat da bhalla (the wellbeing of all) and seva (selfless service). Seva Food Bank is a client-centric organization that focuses on bringing dignity in the way we serve food to our client families.

The Seva Food Bank provides safe, nutritious and culturally appropriate food to low income families of all backgrounds living in Mississauga. Sikhs Serving Canada Our Vision - A society in which the inherent divinity and sovereignty of every individual is recognized and cultivated so that everyone is able to fulfill their true potential. Our Mission - Launch and manage a portfolio of initiatives that mobilizes the goodwill of Canadians to address the needs of our local communities. Seva Food Bank Our Mandate - Coordinate and deliver programs that improve the food security* needs of our clients and support them in their journey to self-reliance by addressing the root causes of their hunger. Our Goal - All people living in the communities we serve have access to a culturally appropriate and personally acceptable supply of food. Our Values Sarbat Da Bhalla (The Well Being of All) - Every individual is divine. It is our inherent responsibility to look after each other in our community so no one is left behind. Seva (Selfless Service) - Each of us has a responsibility to give back in any way we can. We serve with humility, compassion and gratitude, treating everyone equitably with dignity and respect. Chardi Kala (Eternal Optimism) - Tomorrow will be better than today. We inject this optimism into all our interactions and plans. Diversity and Inclusion - Diverse values, beliefs, and behaviours, and social, cultural and linguistic needs of all communities will be considered in the services and supports that they require. These needs are integral to ensuring that our communities have access to and participate in all levels of our mission-based projects, activities and organizations.
