About This Cause

The Canadian Dachshund Rescue (Ontario) is a registered not-for-profit organization that devotes its energy to saving the lives of unwanted, neglected or abused dachshunds and dachshund mixes. Dogs come into our care as owner surrenders, strays and from puppy mill & backyard breeder releases. Last year, we saved the lives of more than 109 dogs that would otherwise have been euthanized or continued living in inhumane conditions. Our rescue is run entirely by volunteers and 100% of the funds we raise go toward the veterinary fees we incur for dogs in our care. In 2016, our vetting cost, was in excess of $92,000. Our organization does not receive any government funding and as such, we rely entirely on fundraising and donations in order to continue our life saving work.
