Mission Statement

The mission of the Canadian Animal Assistance Team (CAAT) is to provide much needed access to veterinary services to remote and under-served Indigenous communities while working with the leadership toward locally sustainable solutions.

About This Cause

The Canadian Animal Assistance Team is a non-profit charity organization whose mission is to assist with animal concerns/issues in remote and under served Indigenous communities. Many communities reach out to have us come in to provide veterinary services. While we understand that this is a priority in many places, to be successful and have a lasting impact on animal management a locally sustainable, community based plan is a critical component. Along with providing access to veterinary care as an immediate need, we will work with leadership toward the creation and implementation of a self governed Community Animal Management Plan (CAMP). Our role is a supporting role, we provide expertise and skills in some of the areas needed and will support the community leaders in finding local solutions.
