Mission Statement
The Olive Tree aims to reconnect isolated people and families to communities of support by providing services in the areas of homelessness, hunger relief and education. We offer food-focused services and are able to serve anyone in the community that is in need of support. We are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, single parents and seniors.
About This Cause
The Olive Tree is a grassroots organization that was founded on the idea of creating a community where people in need felt like they belonged. It began, not with professionals, but with a group of people from different backgrounds who wanted to help the community. Our goal was to build a place where they could connect with support aids, find mentorship and create a sense of camaraderie within our community. Our main programming is food focused and consists of Free Community Meals, MOMs Group, Seniors Connection and Men's Coffee. We are now a registered food bank under Food Banks Canada and Alberta providing supports to individuals, families, the Public and Catholic school division and other non-profits and charities in Lloydminster and the surrounding area.
