Mission Statement

The eatART Foundation is a charitable organization that teaches the public about renewable energies through the creation and exhibition of large-scale, kinetic art. The name of the organization – eatART – comes from our mission: to promote Energy Awareness Through Art. Our mission is embodied in a fun and innovative way: by creating, displaying, financing, and encouraging audacious and improbable artwork. eatART’s projects are powered by sustainable technologies and they serve as a platform to educate the public on the social and environmental impacts of mass energy consumption.

About This Cause

The artists at eatART work with student teams from universities such as UBC, SFU, BCIT and Emily Carr, to bring students practical hands on knowledge of what it takes to bring an idea to life while working with professionals from diverse backgrounds. Many of the projects built at eatART over the years have toured extensively, bringing our vision and creations to places like elementary schools, science fairs, festivals, and parades around North America and internationally. Through these pieces, viewers are inspired to promote environmental change and are encouraged to reconsider what is possible. eatART sculptures amaze, inspire and encourage people to rethink energy. eatART’s vision is to become Canada’s community hub for innovative, sustainable art. We aspire to create a growing community of artists and problem solvers. A collective that uses art to inspire Canadians to embrace renewable technologies and hope for a sustainable future. Our organization values are community, creativity, problem solving and learning. We are passionate about creating an inclusive space where everyone can express their creativity, solve problems surrounding fossil fuels, and learn new skills.
