Mission Statement
Our mission is to be a transparent, accountable and professionally run non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs at risk in the Ottawa area. We have a great team of committed volunteers, foster homes and local veterinarians to help us achieve our goals. All of our rescue dogs are provided with medical care, temporary foster home care and love/structure until we find them well-matched and carefully screened forever homes.
About This Cause
Ottawa Dog Rescue was founded in August 2013 by a group of experienced and dedicated people who are committed to being part of the solution and we strive to make a difference one dog at a time. We are a registered charity based in Ottawa Ontario and have approximately 40 dogs in care at any given time. We are an all-breed, all-age, all-size rescue and all of our rescue dogs are in loving foster homes until we find them their perfect Furever home. We receive no government funding and are mostly supported by donations and fundraising efforts. The adoption fees rarely cover the vetting cost per dog which is why public support is so important in helping us save dogs. Along with rescue, we aim to educate by bringing awareness to responsible pet ownership and the importance of spay/neutering. Rescue is about saving lives, and we will do what it takes to do rescue right, because too many lives are lost due to a lack of public awareness and resources.
