Mission Statement
Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue was established and maintained exclusively for charitable purposes. Our aim is to address the stray cat population in Ottawa and surrounding areas.
About This Cause
OSCATR's main objective is to rescue unwanted, homeless, stray, injured and sick felines and provide care and treatment for them especially spaying and neutering, vaccinating and when possible re-homing these cats into new permanent homes. Where it is not possible to re home these colony cats, we would release them with volunteer monitoring once they have received the necessary medical attention. We work exclusively with foster homes for the cats awaiting their new furever homes. This allows us to gather the vital information on the feline's personality and behaviour and best match it with its new owner. We educate the public regarding the correct care of felines and the importance of spaying and neutering. We also co-operate with and have established working arrangements with other kindred organizations in our area.
