Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide an expansive development program in our café and retail space that empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to recognize their potential and inspires communities to help them reach their dreams.
About This Cause
At Melly's Workplace, our core mandate is to break down the significant employment barriers in the disability community by training hard and soft skills that adequately prepare adults living with disabilities to be successful in the workplace. Our development centre offers experiences prioritizing essential skill development, connection and well-being. The program is about changing the lives of these often overlooked and talented members of society, ensuring their contribution, and engaging their families and the broader community in creating a better future. For the young adults whose lives include intellectual and developmental disabilities, participants in the program will develop their skills, advance their opportunities, and empower life's dreams and decisions. The result of this work is adults with disabilities having confidence in the workplace and are building upon their long-term financial and personal independence.
