Mission Statement
The Animo Foundation for Life assists families with significant financial needs who wish to preserve the life of their pet by offering them to cover the majority of the veterinary costs necessary for its survival in the event of an accident or illness serious. The Foundation also favors cases where the animal is essential to the well-being of the person or the family; animals of people with reduced mobility, people with an autism spectrum disorder, children with special needs, etc. Too often, people who do not have the financial resources to continue the prescribed treatment towards the recovery of their pet unfortunately have to resort to euthanasia and this is what the Animo Foundation for Life wishes to avoid. Any request for assistance made to the Animo pour la vie Foundation must be presented by a Quebec veterinarian, upon presentation of a specific case, insofar as the latter agrees to participate in its realization. Our intervention is done directly with Quebec veterinarians who submit a request.
About This Cause
Since Animo pour la vie has been created, they have saved more than 2,000 lives. Last year, they saved more than 100 lives. Those are the criteria to be eligible: The required intervention is necessary for the animal’s survival; The financial means are inadequate to allow the required intervention (annual family income of $ 35,000 and less);The client must be able to contribute to the payment of the invoice by assuming 33% of the veterinary costs; The link between the owner and the animal must be clearly established; The veterinary establishment submitting the request for financial assistance must also contribute by covering 15% of the costs related to the intervention. Animo pour la vie pays 52% of the bill. 98% of the fund raising is returned and used to save animals. They have zero employees, only volunteers. Their only expenses are office supply and Insurance responsibility. This foundation is for VCA clinics and ALL other groups. The main goal is – Save animal life, whatever the group the clinic is part of.
