Mission Statement
The Literary Review of Canada's mission is to be the leading Canadian journal for the exchange of ideas, through book reviews and essays by talented and insightful Canadian authors. To serve the greater good by promoting integrity within public discussions and by presenting a range of views and challenging content. In our reviews and essays, we will continue to publish reviews and essays on Indigenous history and culture and minority groups across the full spectrum of geographies, ethnicities, sexualities, and genders. To stay relevant, the small but dedicated team of editors and writers will focus on steadily increasing its coverage and depth – establishing the magazine a key piece of the country’s literary ecosystem – a unique incubator and showcase for Canadian thought. It is part of our mandate to help develop the next generation of Canadian talent, as geographically expansive and ethnically diverse as our country! We continue to plan for increases in contributor fees, which will enable us to attract more of the country’s finest writers, thinkers, and visual artists. With this strong editorial mandate, our subscribers will help create a community through which writers and artists connect with the public to promote their work, reaching a diverse and strategic audience that is difficult to reach by other means.
