About This Cause
Durham Children’s Aid Foundation is a registered charity that supports more than 4,500 children, youth, and families across Durham Region each year. We partner with Durham Children’s Aid Society to provide access to life-changing opportunities for those who need it most. Our work is rooted in compassion, inclusion, and the belief that every child and youth deserves to be safe, supported, and given the chance to thrive. We focus on raising critical funds and delivering programs that meet urgent needs, remove barriers, and build brighter futures. Our Priorities Essential Care We meet urgent and everyday needs with dignity and care. This includes access to food, clothing, hygiene products, gift cards, baby supplies, school items, and emergency supports. Essential Care also includes our Holiday Hope campaign, which provides personalized gifts, warm clothing, and holiday meal support to hundreds of families during a season that can otherwise feel overwhelming or isolating. Bright Futures We help children and youth reach their full potential through access to education, tutoring, mentorship, and life skills development. This includes summer programs and camps that offer structure, connection, and confidence when home is not always a safe or joyful place. Safe Futures We support survivors of trauma, human trafficking, and intimate partner violence by connecting them with safe housing, mental health care, practical supports, and a trusted path forward. Our goal is to help every young person feel seen, supported, and empowered to rebuild.
