About This Cause
PISE is a charitable non-profit organization that provides education, programs and services across South Vancouver Island, while managing the Pacific Institute for Sport Education facility. We are nationally recognized for work in the areas of physical literacy and inclusion and also deliver the esteemed Canadian Sport School program for high performance athletes in Grades 10 to 12. Our vision is to transform lives through healthy activity and sport by providing physical activity, health and sport education programming and services for children, youth and adults that focus on inclusion, physical literacy, active living, and the development of performance sport. The delivery of our programs is dependent on the generosity of our community. Thank you to our donors for helping us build a healthy community! Currently 10,000 youth receive physical literacy programs annually from PISE through partnerships with school districts, municipalities, health authorities and the indigenous communities. PISE is a financially self-sustaining organization that has been able to develop a successful business model through multiple partnerships with the public and private sectors and through the dedicated service and leadership of a highly qualified and passionate team of individuals who care deeply about the work they do. PISE provides significant benefit to all members of the community throughout the region, while supporting and building sport tourism. The current 75,000 square foot facility includes classrooms, fitness and strength training facilities, a double gymnasium, an all-weather multi-sport playing field, a 400 metre track, athletic therapy clinic, performance sport services, sport technology research lab, a play dome for children's programs and outdoor training surfaces.
