Mission Statement
OUR VISION – Connected Every Step of the Way OUR MISSION – Incorporated in 2009, ArtHouse is a Halton charitable organization that provides FREE arts-based programs for children and youth aged 7-17 who have no access to fee-related activities. OUR APPROACH – working collaboratively with Community Partners, we provide programs for our communities’ most vulnerable young people. ArtHouse offers safe and supportive spaces enabling its participants to experience the joyful expression of creativity and to cultivate life skills that influence confidence, resilience, social inclusion and better physical and mental health. Our goal is to furnish our children and youth with learning opportunities that will positively impact their educational achievements and social development, propelling them into a future full of hope. OUR ARTS BASED PROGRAMS - creative and visual arts, music, improv, theatre performance, dance, cooking programs and other special workshops. We remain the only organization of its type providing this type of programming throughout Halton.
About This Cause
WHERE IN THE WORLD WOULD WE BE WITHOUT THE ARTS? ArtHouse is like a Village – and it’s not a small village. We estimate that close to 15,000 young people have little or no access to extra-curricular arts programs throughout the Halton Region. And while we simply can’t reach everyone, we are grateful to our Community Partners, Our Instructors, Volunteers and our Donors who are helping us to engage our most vulnerable young people providing them with better pathways to their futures. OUR HISTORY: Over 15 years of community service, ArtHouse has reached more than 11,400 young people by providing 870 Neighbourhood Programs, delivered at 90 Subsidized Housing locations, Cooperatives, Community Hubs and in collaborative partnerships with front-line Agencies throughout Halton. Since 2016, ArtHouse has been accredited by Imagine Canada for excellence in nonprofit accountability, transparency and governance.
