Mission Statement
Tomchei Shabbos of Toronto provides food packages for Shabbos & Yom Tov to needy families in our community. Every week Tomchei volunteers take of their time to organize, package and deliver food parcels to the Tomchei recipients.
About This Cause
Toronto is known for having many charity organizations, providing for the various needs in our community. Our charity, Tomchei Shabbos, which began over thirty years ago, provides food for each family in their own way, whether it is giving an elderly couple more bread or a large family more dairy products or chicken. The deliverers do not come in contact with the recipients, unless the recipient specifically requests it. This is to allow the receiver to maintain their dignity. All those involved in the organization, from the administration to the drivers, are all volunteers. All donations go directly to providing for those in need.
