About This Cause
Healthy Start for Mom & Me is a non-profit, community-based, pregnancy and new parent outreach program. Operating out of 10 community locations in Winnipeg, Healthy Start reaches families who live in poverty, violence and isolation. We also reach newly arrived immigrant & refugee to Canada by offering our program in their first language. Families come to our groups to learn about having a healthy baby and come back after their baby is born, to learn how to care and nurture their babies. Each neighbourhood group offers a friendly place to ask questions from a dietitian, public health nurse and outreach staff. Healthy Start helps connect families to the services in their community and to each other to nurture healthy babies, children and communities.
