Mission Statement
We operate from a centralized distribution centre; we collect food from reclamation sources; buy food in bulk; sort and store food; promote awareness of hunger and its impact; and coordinate fundraising. We provide food to member organizations on a monthly “fair share” basis.
About This Cause
We support those who feed the hungry: nine member food banks and twenty-one schools within the City of Kawartha Lakes. We provide both perishable and non-perishable food to our members. Our core work is done by 4 staff (1 full time, 3 part time) and over 100 volunteers. We have no core funding from any level of government and rely on individual donations, grants/foundations and community support.
