Mission Statement
Our temple is open to all races, colours, sexual orientation, genders, traditions and religious beliefs. We believe that everyone has a chance to be able to learn from each other in a safe space without judgements. We open our culture and traditions for all peoples; we tend to focus on a peaceful, safe environment for all to come and attend our events.
About This Cause
In our temple we hold monthly events for the community that is open to all. We do not charge for entrance fees. All food, snacks, drinks (non alcoholic) are free and available to all who attend. Donations are strictly up to choice. We have different events such as the ‘Nang San Khan’ which is a pageant for women that are from the ages of 16 to 25 years old that is celebrated in the month of April. This is also the Lao New Year that is celebrated to commemorate the coming of a new year and to bring luck, happiness and good health. We also have the month of August in which we celebrate Boon Horekaopradupdine that is about the time for spirits from the other side to come and gain a meal. This is similar to October’s Halloween, however there is actual food, snacks and juice are given to all ages that attend. Along with prayers for peace, protection and happiness for all, including the spirits. January is Boon Khoune Khao which gives thanks to the farmers, the harvest, being thankful for food. June is the month of giving prayers to the fallen heroes and warriors who have fallen protecting the cities as well as of past wars to guide them towards happiness and peace. These are some of the events that we have as each month celebrates a significance towards beliefs, history, traditions, culture and religion. Please note that during this time we are following guidelines of the Corona Virus pandemic lockdowns. Until the pandemic comes to a slow turn and by government guidelines we will open again.
