Colorectal Cancer Canada is the country's leading colorectal cancer not for profit organization, dedicated to colorectal cancer awareness and education, supporting patients and their families and advocating on their behalf.
About This Cause
Colorectal cancer is currently the second leading cause of cancer death overall for men and third for women in Canada. Approximately 26,900 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer this year and sadly 9,500 will die of the disease. Despite these shocking numbers, the disease is still not well known or well understood. Current scientific literature indicates that up to 90% or more of colorectal cancer can be successfully treated or prevented through early detection and removal of pre-cancerous polyps and through diet and regular exercise.
