Mission Statement
Prostate Cancer Canada Network Calgary Society is an independent charity registered in Alberta and with the Canada Revenue Agency. Our society's goals are to: 1) increase awareness about prostate disorders; 2) educate men and their family members and caregivers about each man's prostate cancer risk, latest therapies for prostate cancer, and survivorship; and 3) advocate for men dealing with prostate cancer. Our website at www.pccncalgary.org or www.prostaidcalgary.org contains extensive information about all aspects of prostate cancer, therapies and survivorship. Our website attracts visitors from Calgary, Alberta and surrounding area, and also from other parts of Canada, USA and around the world. Our journal The Digital Examiner has a monthly circulation of ~1300 distributed by email. Membership is free. We are entirely self-funded through fund raising activities by our members, private and corporate donations, and support of service clubs and other community organizations.
About This Cause
PROSTAID Calgary is the signature program of Prostate Cancer Canada Network Calgary Society. We have been serving men and their families dealing with prostate cancer in Calgary and area since 1993. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men during their lifetime. The disease is curable if detected and treated early. However, if not caught, prostate cancer can be lethal. We encourage all men 40 years and older to visit their family doctor to have their baseline PSA checked and then have their PSA checked regularly. PROSTAID Calgary meets at the Kerby Centre in Calgary on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. For more information about prostate cancer, visit www.prostaidcalgary.org or www.pccncalgary.org. We have more than 100 videos about prostate cancer on our website and YouTube channel pccncalgary. Please don't hesitate to email us at info@pccncalgary.org if you would like to receive our monthly journal The Digital Examiner by email.
