Aspire Child Development Centre is dedicated to enriching the lives of children by providing comprehensive child development services in collaboration with families and communities.
About This Cause
Aspire Child Development Centre (Aspire) began operations in 1985, serving 36 children and their families through a single program. Since then, our organization has grown to serve more than 1,000 individuals annually through specialized preschool services, diagnostic assessments, and training. Our range of programs and services target children aged 12 months to 17 years who have diverse and complex needs. Aspire has an in-house team of professionals who work with the children and their families in three core programs include: 1. Early Access to Supportive Education (EASE) specialized preschool, which serves children aged 2 years 8 months to 4 years, 7 months who have been diagnosed with a disability, including at least one severe developmental delay. Each child receives personalized learning plans tailored to their unique needs and goals, as well as full-time support from child development facilitators. 2. Assessment Consultation and Training Services (ACTS), which provides assessment and parent training programs where children and families can receive professional support from our multi-disciplinary team. Upon completion, families receive an assessment report, recommended strategies, and community referrals. If relevant, the child may also receive a diagnosis from the team. 3. School and Family Services (SFS), which provides screening, consultation, and assessment services to children and families through contracts with agencies. These services are provided in homes, in schools, and within other community programs. In each of these programs, children and their families connect with a team of professionals including psychologists, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, behavioural consultants, and special education teachers. This fully integrated, multi-disciplinary approach makes Aspire unique in central Alberta. It allows us to best serve children with diverse needs and their families, helping to position them with resources, strategies, connections, and pathways for support, both now and in the future.
