Mission Statement
Harvest House Atlantic - "Connecting people of compassion with people in need to make a difference."
About This Cause
For the past 25 years, Harvest House Atlantic, located in Moncton, New Brunswick, has actively created a welcoming community where women and men, struggling with homelessness and addictions, can experience much-needed hope and support in their darkest hour. Our organization offers a full Continuum of Care—the only one of its kind in Atlantic Canada. We serve over 250 meals daily, along with providing a 60-bed Emergency Shelter for both women and men. For individuals seeking help with substance abuse, we offer a nine-month, live-in, Women’s and Men’s Addiction Recovery Program. Through our Transitional Housing Program, we provide individuals with an affordable place to live while they seek employment or enroll in studies full-time. The backbone of all of this is our team of caseworkers who meet with each of our approximately 150 guests across our different programs to formulate individualized case plans according to their unique goals. Our Vision Harvest House exists to meet the needs of people who are lost, lonely, addicted, and hurting. We meet these needs by “Connecting people of compassion with people in need to make a difference” and by providing a caring and supportive faith-based community where people have the opportunity to experience God’s love in a tangible way. We exist to bring people hope, dignity, and the opportunity to make a better tomorrow. Our Values Integrity – Being honest, fair, trustworthy, dependable, ethical, transparent, and accountable Compassion – Being kind, concerned, empathetic, dependable, and considerate for the needs and well being of others. Agape Love – Believing that every person is loved and valued by God, and therefore, demonstrating His unconditional love. Respect – Believing in the dignity of all people, honouring self and others through words and actions. Equality – Recognizing that all individuals are created equal and treating them fairly no matter what differences they have from other people throughout society.
