Mission Statement
iSisters Technology Mentoring is a registered Canadian charity that was founded in 2001. Our mission is to create and deliver technology programs at no cost to learners as we believe in equipping women with the skills and confidence to participate fully in their community.
About This Cause
At iSisters, we believe in education, volunteerism and community capacity building. We are passionate about the potential of technology as a means to learn, grow and gain economic independence. As a leader in technology learning and development, iSisters helps empower women, girls and gender-diverse people in need to live better lives, create brighter futures and build stronger communities. iSisters increases economic earning potential and independence for women in poverty in Eastern Ontario, serving those who are unemployed, have limited education or depend on government services for basic needs. We do so by offering women in need a full set of computer and employability skills, in a familiar and safe environment. We design and deliver community-based technology learning programs in partnership with community organizations that support women in need. Since 2001, over 4400 women have graduated from our programs.
