Mission Statement
The Beauséjour Family Crisis Resource Centre is committed to prevention of family violence and other social problems in the region through education, prevention and intervention.
About This Cause
The Centre is a place where people who are in a crisis situation or experiencing difficulties can either drop in or call for assistance and information. The professional Interveners at the Centre provide short and long-term counselling, emotional support and information including referrals to appropriate agencies in the following cases: Family Violence, Sexual Assault, Separation or Divorce, Family and / or Relationship Difficulties, Conflicts between Parents and Youths, Low Self-Esteem, Emotional Problems (grief, stress, etc.), Alcohol, Drugs and or / Gambling Addictions, Depression and Suicidal Thoughts. The Centre provides the following support groups: New Beginnings: Open and on-going support group for women who are or have been in an abusive relationship. Second Stage Housing: The Residence of Hope Second Stage Housing Program provides affordable housing and support services to victims of family violence and their children. The Second Stage Housing Program also offers the services needed to empower these women to become financially and personally independent. The goal is to enable them to establish a life without violence. Highlights of the Centre : Housing Wing: 6 short term relief beds and 8 long term housing suites for female victims and their children Wellness Centre: 9 trauma informed mental health support spaces for both individual and group educational sessions, as well as a medical room for private consultations with external healthcare providers. Clothing Boutique: A free job-readiness boutique for clients to assist with work wardrobe and job interviews clothing. Custody and Access Centre: A safe environment in which to hold custody exchanges as well as any supervised family visits. Medical Space: A multi-disciplinary medical room for nurse practitioners and forensic nurses. RCMP Investigation Comfort Room: Modelled after an evidence-based approach process in Toronto, the comfort room provides victims of crime with a safe and trauma-informed atmosphere to provide statements, as well as follow-up appointments such as court preparation. Recreation Centre: A welcoming recreational outdoor space for children and youth as well as a therapeutic garden for adults. Life Skills Activity Centre: A multi-purpose space designed to provide individuals with financial literacy, job readiness, just to mention a few. Youth Thrive Centre: A space for children and youth to unite and to build mental resilience. We offer an Educational Program for Youths Action Prevention Youth is a counselling and social skills program for children and youth. Crisis Intervention Team A team of highly trained volunteers provide immediate assistance to individuals or families dealing with a crisis situation. These volunteers work in collaboration with the RCMP. The service is available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week.
